Winter tour from Yerevan

Tsaghkadzor & Sevan in winter

The ropeway above the snowy slopes of Tsaghkadzor and Kecharis monastery

Overview

Tsaghkadzor is Armenia’s main ski resort, an hour from Yerevan. Its ropeway climbs from about 1,970 to 2,819 metres on Mount Teghenis, with around 30 km of slopes.

In the morning we visit Kecharis, a monastery of the 11th–13th centuries in Tsaghkadzor itself, then take the ropeway — to ski or snowboard, or just for the views. After lunch we drive to Sevanavank: in winter the lake is especially quiet.
