DetailsDay tour from Yerevan
Tatev is one of the most dramatic places in Armenia: a 9th-century monastery on the edge of the Vorotan gorge. You reach it on the Wings of Tatev — a 5.7 km cable car that holds the Guinness record for the longest non-stop double-track aerial tramway.
On the way south we stop at Khor Virap for the closest view of Mount Ararat. After the monastery you can cool off at Devil’s Bridge, a natural stone bridge with mineral pools.
Bring comfortable shoes and a light jacket — Tatev is cooler than Yerevan. If the cable car is closed because of wind, we drive up to the monastery by road.
