Day tour from Yerevan

Saghmosavank, Hovhannavank & Alphabet Park

Saghmosavank monastery on the edge of the Kasakh gorge

Overview

North of Yerevan, along the Kasakh river, stand some of Armenia’s most beautiful medieval monasteries. Hovhannavank and Saghmosavank rise right on the edge of the gorge, with Mount Aragats behind them.

We also visit Karmravor, a small 7th-century church in Ashtarak, the 17th-century church of St. Gevorg in Mughni, and the Alphabet Park, where giant stone letters of the Armenian alphabet stand on the slopes of Aragats.
